Senior Procurement Manager for Regulatory Implementation

As Senior Procurement Manager for Regulatory Implementation OPEA (Onshore Wind and PV in Europe and Australia) you lead the monitoring of the fast-changing regulations in all of OPEA’s markets impacting the international Supply Chain & Procurement of Onshore Wind, PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. In addition, you are responsible for deriving regulatory implications and defining the right strategy and measures to meet regulatory requirements and implement them internally. Besides the main categories Wind Turbine Generators (WTG), transformers, PV modules, BESS and inverters your responsibility also covers all related parts of the Balance of Plant procurement items.
You are part of the team “Regional Category Management PV & BESS OPEA” and functionally report to the Head of this team. In your daily work you cooperate not only with the internal Regulatory team, but with various colleagues from different departments along the project value chain and, on a monthly basis, directly interact with Board level.
Your future role
- Develop a regulatory radar to track all regulatory EU initiatives potentially impacting Supply Chain & Procurement of Onshore Wind, PV and BESS
- Develop strategy and measures to meet regulatory requirements and define processes to implement them internally, in alignment with key stakeholders from various departments
- Develop and present decision proposals and information papers and be responsible for regular strategic consulting for higher management level (Head of Reg. Cat. Mgmt. PV & BESS OPEA, OPEA Director for Procurement, other OPEA Directors and Board members)
- Internal and external communication of OPEA Procurement activities in close collaboration with the Public Affairs & Regulatory department
- Collaborate and professionally engage with external and internal partners such as suppliers, renewables associations, service providers, relevant authorities, etc. as well as other functions within the RWE group
- Support building up a procurement organization fit for managing a large portfolio of multi-hundred RES projects in various countries and regulatory regimes
Your powerful skills
- Excellent completed university degree in business administration/ management, communication, industrial engineering and economics or a comparable degree
- Several years of professional experience within Procurement and/ or Project Management within high complex, large scale organizations
- Ability to quickly familiarize yourself with complex topics and excellent skills in communicating them in a structured manner in writing, verbally and graphically
- Extensive knowledge of the energy industry – preferably in the area of Renewables (Wind and/or PV)
- Excellent & proven experience in project management and presenting skills as project manager, incl. ability to juggle many different projects at the same time
- Highly independent, systematic, quality- and goal-oriented approach to work as well as broad methodological skills
- Ability to work under high pressure & pace while keeping a positive mind-set
- Team player with hands-on mentality
- Business fluent English mandatory (speaking and writing), and German is of advantage
- General willingness to travel internationally
