Our client is a leading Green Tech IoT scale-up business based in Berlin. Fuelled by a recent Series A funding round, they are on a mission to revolutionise the way we utilise the power of the Internet of Things. They are a passionate and talented team of individuals dedicated to building a sustainable future.

About the Role

As our Chief Financial Officer (CFO) ideally with electronics Expertise, you will play a critical role in shaping the financial future of the company. You will lead the finance team, develop and implement strategic financial plans specific to scaling the IoT platform globally, and ensure they have the resources needed to achieve their ambitious growth goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the finance team, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, with a focus on hardware manufacturing costs
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive financial strategy aligned with our business objectives, considering hardware manufacturing complexities
  • Secure funding through strategic partnerships and future financing rounds, highlighting the financial viability of hardware production
  • Manage investor relations and ensure transparent financial communication, including cost breakdowns for hardware development and production
  • Oversee financial reporting, tax compliance, and risk management, with a focus on managing supply chain and production-related risks
  • Partner with the CEO, leadership team, and engineering teams to make informed business decisions regarding hardware production and pricing and sales forecasting
  • Foster a culture of financial discipline and accountability within the company, with a focus on optimising company efficiencies.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in a senior finance role, preferably within a high-growth tech startup with hardware manufacturing experience
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful financial strategies for hardware manufacturing companies
  • Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles and financial reporting, with additional knowledge of costing methods relevant to hardware production
  • Experience with financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting, considering hardware manufacturing costs and lead times
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on cost optimization and risk mitigation in hardware production
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders across various departments (finance, engineering, manufacturing)
  • Deep understanding of the Green Tech and IoT industries (a plus)

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions (M&A) space
  • Experience working with venture capital firms familiar with hardware startups
  • Proficiency in financial modeling software and data analysis tools, including tools for production cost analysis
