Vice President of Product Engineering, 2 Hour Learning (Remote) - $400,000/year USD Do you have the technical prowess and visionary leadership to revolutionize education with AI? Join 2 Hour Learning as our Vice President of Product Engineering, where you will spearhead the transformation of our AIcentric educational platform. This executivelevel role combines CTOlevel technical rigor with innovative product vision and a relentless commitment to enhancing student success at scale. Unlike others who simply tack AI onto existing models, 2 Hour Learning has reimagined the educational framework from scratch, leveraging AI and learning science to break free from traditional classroom limits. Our users achieve multiple 4s and 5s on AP exams, experience multiyear academic growth in a single year, and exceed their own expectations. As an executivelevel technical product owner, you will oversee architecture, technical strategy, and AI integration for our entire learning system. Your task is to make decisive technical tradeoffs, ensuring our products remain lean, scalable, and relentlessly focused on student outcomes. What You Will Be Doing Use your deep expertise in educational products to guide strategic decisionmaking. Craft technical specifications that prioritize simplicity, efficiency, and longterm sustainability. Implement generative AI technologies to automate and optimize engineering processes, aligning with our vision to minimize manual labor. What You Wont Be Doing Focusing solely on people management; business and technical skills are crucial. Spending excessive time in meetings, committees, or administrative tasks. Proposing highlevel strategies without actionable implementation plans. Key Responsibilities Function as the CTO for one or more educational products, managing core competencies and enhancing business value through strategic execution and decisionmaking. Basic Requirements Profound experience and interest in datadriven learning science. Over 7 years of experience in making critical architecture and design decisions on software projects, including applying architecture patterns and significant opensource technologies. More than 2 years of experience in design decisions involving cloud computing services, primarily AWS. At least 4 years of experience in roles with full technical and delivery ownership of a revenuegenerating product. Experience in developing product features that leverage Generative AI. Proficiency in using Generative AI to streamline work processes. About 2 Hour Learning Education is broken, but 2 Hour Learning is proving it doesnt have to be. We are tearing down the outdated onesizefitsall model and replacing it with AIdriven personalized learning that helps kids master academics in just two hours a day. Students consistently rank in the top 12% nationally, and were proving that smarter learning is possible. Working with us This is a fulltime (40 hours per week) position, immediately available. The role requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. Compensation is $200USD per hour, equivalent to $400,000USD per year, paid weekly.
