Head of Openings and Refurbishments (f/m/d)

MEININGER Hotels is looking for a Head of Openings and Refurbishments who is responsible for consistent, superior project management to ensure hotel-opening readiness (technical, operational, commercial) within approved budget and timeline. They must balance operational and commercial drivers.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Understand and play back the commercial drivers and objectives for each project Develop detailed pre-opening and refurbishment project plans Identify deliverables, milestones on the project and manage interdependencies across projects Define project goals, objectives, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop mitigation plans to ensure project success Manage project teams, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback to ensure effective collaboration and high-quality deliverables Monitor project activities, identify potential issues or roadblocks, and proactively address them to keep projects on track Manage stakeholder expectations by providing timely and accurate information, managing conflicts, and addressing concerns Identify and monitor resource utilization and adjust allocations as needed to optimize project performance and meet project deadlines Conduct regular project evaluations to assess progress, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as necessary Ensure suitable documentation is maintained for audit and future reference At the end of the project, ensure a smooth transition to the “business as usual” functions

YO UR PROFILE

Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams Experience of matrix management and working with resources not under your direct control Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a focus on driving results and delivering high-quality outcomes Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment High commercial awareness, understanding the competing demands of different business functions Knowledge of finance, forecasting and budgeting Experience of new hotel openings and hotel refurbishments (preferred) Knowledge of hotel IT systems and infrastructure (preferred) Fluent in English. A second language is desirable
