Within Mercedes-Benz Interior Development, our department is responsible for the development and digital and hardware-based validation of future and pioneering seating systems for all Mercedes-Benz passenger cars. The central goal is to maximize customer benefit while taking ergonomics, comfort, safety, value appeal, quality, costs and weight into account.
In our seat measuring house, we carry out various hardware measurements on complete seats and individual components, which on the one hand serve to directly record and document the development status and on the other hand provide necessary and valuable feedback for our digital design and conception.
As part of seat comfort development, measurements and surveys are carried out with test subjects in order to obtain early feedback on target achievement and to initiate further optimizations.
These are some of the challenges you will face:
The aim of the investigations is to optimize the comfort of the headrests while taking into account all other requirements for the component. Due to the prioritization of safety aspects, the original comfort of the headrest suffers. The task is to make the various general requirements of the headrest transparent and to shed light on the interactions. The factors that influence subjective comfort should be identified and taken into account. These factors include, for example, the surface contour, the material of the headrest, the pressure distribution to different points and the softness, which can vary due to different foam materials.
You will work independently on various individual measuring and testing tasks on the individual headrest component and evaluate these. You will support more complex studies and measurement series with test subjects (organization, implementation, planning, supervision) You will carry out research (internal and external) on the above-mentioned issues, use the existing specialist knowledge, review the results and develop the necessary procedures from them You prepare the results obtained, discuss them with those involved in the project and present them to the relevant working groups You commission the creation of samples for presenting and experiencing progress as well as for tests You document the results in an appropriate manner Qualifikationen Degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering or comparable engineering studies, Bachelor's degree Proficient in written and spoken German and English Confident handling of MS Office Commitment and ability to work in a team Analytical mindset and strategic way of working You are creative for new approaches and optimizations on the product and can organize yourself independently after instruction and work on topics independently You are a strong communicator and enjoy working in an international team with colleagues in India and China (English language skills)Additional information:
