Job Description

The National Business Line Leader will develop the agro testing business in the DACH region in a way that Eurofins becomes a trusted key player in this area. Currently the footprint of Agro Testing Germany consists out of two laboratories: Buxtehude (forage testing) and Jena (soil, plant, manure and compost testing). The NBLL reports to the International Business Line Leader of Agro Testing Europe.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy

Develop the Agro Tesing Germany activities through organic growth of at least 10% each year. Explore and search for opportunities to grow the business inorganically Design and implement the local, long-term strategy to grow the business and to challenge especially the competitive prices in the market and develop and implement new product propositions within the market.Consolidate/integrate the recently acquired laboratory into the organizationContinue building activities of a new soil laboratory in Jena Prepare and propose annual budget and 3 years plan. Report on any deviations to deliver agreed upon results to his/her shareholders.

Operations

Guarantee and control that all relevant legal and Health & Safety requirements are being abided to, that the accreditations are being maintained and regularly expanded and that all employees act according to Eurofins values, especially work ethics and policies. Improve operations efficiency and meet the required turn-around-times of the local market and the international intercompany clients. Implement highly automated processes and build the organization around this new setup

Commercial/financial

Increase the visibility of Eurofins within the agro testing business. Make sure that cross-selling synergies with other Eurofins business units are being developed. Improve the technical and scientific aspects by ensuring the appropriate development and application of new techniques, products, services and business processes (including several IT topics). Take appropriate measures to improve profitability. Develop and report on the Business Unit KPI’s. Lead / take part in Group initiatives / assignments as agreed from time to time with his or her board. Build strong relationships toward your key customers and maintain customer satisfaction.

HR/People

Hire, motivate, develop, and retain excellent employees/leaders. Lead according to Eurofins Leadership Charter and act as a role model for leadership and employees.

Qualifications

Approximately 10 years of professional experience. At least 3 years of these with full responsibility for P&L (of a business with at least 50 staff and sales > 3 M€ / year) and proven financial success, preferably in the agricultural industry with a broad network and commercial focus.
