The Job

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing leadership and managing team members to ensure project objectives are met
  • Setting goals, timelines, and milestones for projects, making sure they are realistic and achievable
  • Communicating with key stakeholders to ensure they are aware of project status
  • Ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and within budget
  • Coordinating with external vendors or clients to gather information needed for the project
  • Assessing the feasibility of proposed projects, making sure they are consistent with company goals and objectives
  • Working with a team to develop a project plan including tasks, timelines, costs, and resources required
  • Managing a project from start to finish to ensure that it meets deadlines and is completed successfully
  • Evaluating project risks and making appropriate changes to mitigate them


The Profile

  • At least 10 years of SAP experience in international projects
  • Senior knowledge of SAP in the most critical business areas. He/she will be supported by functional specialists, but to cover this role he/she needs to know the main SAP configurations and logics (At least he/she needs to understand at a medium level Finance, Sales, Purchasing, Material Management and Production)
  • Fluent EN (written and spoken)
  • Very good communication skills and ability to talk with users and to understand requirements (and also ability to drive users to explain their requirements… is not obvious that business is able to explain what they need)
  • Ability of formalize requirements and to work with the functional team to prepare good written documentation
  • Very good negotiation capabilities. The ticketing triage is not easy, and you have to be a good negotiator in order to have a single voice with the business and to define a single priority list that everyone have to accept and support
  • Strong project management skills and practice:
  • Ability to monitor a project in all the phases
  • Project preparation
  • Project Kick Off
  • Provide regular (at least weekly) updates
  • Define planning
  • Understand the resources required (and related skills)
  • Monitor project costs
  • Be able to identify the main milestones and to monitor them regularly and provide timely escalation in case of deviations
  • Be a focal point for the functional specialists during the project execution (user requirements collection and formalization, users approval to requirements, system configuration/implementation, test phases (UT/IT/UAT/NRT), cut over, go live, post go live support, project closure)
  • Be sure that all the formal approvals are provided on time
  • Identify with the business (and support the business on that) the clear priority and support the business to work by priority (and not by urgencies)
  • Good communication skills
  • Capability to discuss with all the company levels and use the proper approach with each of them (the same topic needs to be explained differently to a high-level manager compared to a senior functional skill)
  • Capability to bear the stress and the pressure (no panic)
  • A lot of humility and patience… this person needs to have a very humble approach, to be accepted by the business and by the IT Team
  • An incredible passion for his/her job
