Our Business Development Team of our Pharma Business Unit is looking for a new Senior Patent Manager (m/f/d).

Your tasks:

Act as the primary point of contact for both internal queries and external customer inquiries regarding intellectual property (IP) matters. Evaluate patents for project ideas, ongoing projects, and products, ensuring timely updates and project-specific assessments. Develop strategies related to patents and integrate them into project plans. Manage invention disclosures, including communication with inventors, and oversee the patent application process from drafting to maintenance. Conduct freedom to operate analyses, assessing validity, infringement, and enforceability, along with prior art searches for patentability. Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for ongoing and planned projects and products. Handle all aspects of IP disputes, collaborating with external attorneys and supporting patent attorneys/counsels. Coordinate collaboration with external law firms and experts, actively participating in project teams. Provide opinions on the validity of patents and utility models affecting projects, and manage patent portfolios. Support various internal departments, including training new colleagues, incorporating IP aspects into contracts, and assisting with logistics and due diligence processes.

Your profile:

You possess a PhD in life sciences and several years of working experience in IP management in pharmaceutical companies. You bring deep knowledge of European patent law and have at least a basic familiarity with the US patent law. We highly value candidates with certain experience in the generic pharma business. For this role good verbal and written communication skills in English are crucial. Familiarity with patent databases like Espacenet, PatSnap and IPD Analytics is advantageous for you.
