Summary


We are looking for a distinguished engineer (m/f/d) who acts as an analytics and database Chief Development Architect to help shape the future of our fully managed cloud services portfolio as a member of the HANA Database and Analytics, Technology Office team.

You will be part of a very experienced central architecture team which owns end-to-end responsibility for SAPs data management strategy which is the backbone of the entire SAP portfolio. 

What you'll do


In addition to defining the future architecture for the overall cloud portfolio in the HANA Database and Analytics space, you will get to work first-hand with leading edge technologies, collaborate with stakeholders to understand scenarios and needs, align concepts & ideas within and across the unit and pave the way for the development teams to adopt them.

Since you will be acting as a spearhead of our development organization you will also have the task to drive and align architecture topics across the entire company along the central architecture alignment board of SAP. 

You will work in a diverse & distributed team, driving architecture and technology strategy into actual project work and execution, together with the SAP HANA Database & Analytics development organization.

What you bring

Desire to work on the leading edge of cloud-based analytics and database technologies including the emerging Lakehouse architectures  Track record of quickly adapting to new environments, balancing tradeoffs, and demonstrating flexible, pragmatic, and long-term thinking  Leverage AI technologies for data management and analytics as well as contribution to technical building blocks which enable SAPs global Business AI vision  Profound experience in data integration technologies (SAP data, non-SAP data, data lakes) and enterprise applications  Established record of accomplishments as an architect with analytics and data management engineering teams Ideally deep knowledge in SAP BW/4 and track record in leading data warehousing development projects as an architect  Practical experience with operating Cloud-scale services in production and working on topics around scaling and resilience  Excellent presentation and public speaking skills  Excellent communication skills, proven inter-personal and leadership skills to drive product- & technology-related discussions internally & externally  Ability to communicate and influence effectively at C suite and above  Self-motivation with a positive can-do attitude, eagerness, and ability to work quickly  At least 10+ year work experience in large scale software development & architectural tasks Profound knowledge in the cloud environment Strong customer and partner orientation  Degree in Computer science or related fields
