Your Team:
Reporting to the Head of Claims, Africa and Middle East, you will be a key member of Middle East and North Africa (MENA) team, based in an office established in Dubai. The role is a technical lead in Munich Re’s Claims team and you will provide technical expertise and claims management support to the regional underwriting team. You will support the establishment of the Dubai office, working with the Client Management Executive and team to implement the strategy for the region.
Your Role:
Actively implement the new Global Claims Set-up and advance our Global Claims Ambition 2025 Independently handle single large property and engineering claims in the MENA in accordance with claims handling guidelines, ensuring proactive claims management and state of the art legal and technical analysis of claims including reserving for Outliers. Make decisions regarding indemnity within defined limits of authority Contribute to Munich Re’s thought leadership and market presence ambition. Provide consultative and value driven approach when engaging with Munich Re’s client in the MENA region, deliver custom-made solutions wherever applicable Identify and meet the core business needs of our internal stakeholders. Develop suggestions for improving underwriting quality based on lessons learnt from claims, clients’ behaviour and claims trend analysis, and assist in drafting clauses. Maintain an excellent network with key clients and brokers in MENA market and contribute to business initiatives Manage claims reporting requests from regulatory authorities in MENA and internal management Conduct claims audits/ review/ due diligence of clients and participate in market meetings whenever required Continuously improve claims management to increase the effectiveness of core claims functions in light of digital transformation Review of anomaly cases below certain threshold and ensure the standard and performance service level of claims handling, follow up of “key words” triggered claimsYour Profile:
University degree or relevant formal qualification with 10+ years of experience in claims management / loss adjuster Have rich experience in large-scale property and engineering insurance claims management Expert knowledge of reinsurance and primary insurance business in Claims Strong analytical skills Independent working ability and upstanding team spirit Strategic thinking and ability to lead, motivate and develop the growth of team members Strong negotiation, conflict-resolution skills with the ability to make decisions Good written and spoken command of English Willingness to travelOur Benefits:
