Your role

As a Financial Risk Analyst you will: build and maintain the internal IT and risk management data infrastructure, including troubleshooting, testing, data quality management, data visualisation, and liaising with other ECB business areas;  support and advise the Division’s other teams on IT and data-related matters to deliver on risk management tasks;  establish best practices on programming and documentation for the Division; identify and assess the impact on the Division of ECB-wide developments related to IT infrastructure and data; contribute to designing a long-term strategy for the risk management IT infrastructure, including analysing business processes that need to be enhanced and proposing solutions to improve the Division’s technical infrastructure; contribute to the Division’s analytical projects. The position offers you excellent opportunities to learn on the job about implementing monetary policy and financial risk management, while strengthening your IT and data management knowledge by developing innovative tools for the Division. Qualifications, experience and skills

Essential:  a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, information technology, statistics, finance, economics, mathematics, physics or another relevant field (see for details on degree equivalences); in addition to the above, a minimum of three years’ professional experience (other than as a trainee or intern) in the field of financial risk management, market operations, statistics or information systems;  excellent IT programming skills in Python; advanced understanding of languages used for managing data in a relational database management system (e.g. SQL);  an advanced (C1) command of English and an intermediate (B1) command of at least one other official language of the EU, according to the . You engage collaboratively with others. You pursue team goals and learn willingly from other people’s diverse perspectives. You signal any need for change by explaining it and proposing alternative solutions. You analyse complex information effectively and can evaluate different views to arrive at solutions. You know and anticipate stakeholder needs.You are motivated to be part of our team and to develop and use your skills and competencies to achieve the aims of this position.
