To drive its global expansion strategy, the Citi Commercial Bank (“CCB”) is deepening its presence in Germany to support internationally-oriented German mid-market companies. CCB’s growth plans are aligned to industries which are strategically important in the German market, with a focus on the Industrials, Mobility, Retail & Consumer, Business and Professional Services and Healthcare sectors. We are looking to ideally hire a relationship managers with experience in the Healthcare sector. Special attention will be given to fast growth disruptors (e.g. Biotech and Medtech) that aim to scale-up their cross-border operations. Our new bankers will have an opportunity to expand the CCB Germany franchise, leveraging industry expertise and an advisory-led approach to help Mittelstand companies prosper and grow internationally.

Each of the positions requires an experienced relationship manager capable of driving business independently. The successful candidate should have a proven track record in acquiring new clients, originating new business, client coverage skills to deepen relationships, with ability to call at the CEO/CFO level. Strong corporate finance, credit, and transaction execution skills are required. Corporate and Commercial Banking experience is preferred, with good knowledge of Investment Banking products. Prior banking experience in Germany and solid understanding of the Healthcare sector is preferred, with strong knowledge and connectivity in the local market.

Key Responsibilities:

Self-originate new, multi-product and multi-country client relationships for CCB Germany, and manage those relationships on an ongoing basis. Own, respond to, uncover and anticipate future needs, roadblocks, risks and expectations. Strategically engage with client’s C-suite and maximise ‘One Citi’ client experience, by proactively leveraging and sharing Citi’s market leading insights, global network and solutions. Be the Best” for our clients by understanding and delivering on clients’ holistic operational, risk management, financing and strategic agenda. Be responsible for Client-level planning, budget and revenue responsibilities. Identify cross-sell opportunities to deepen and increase share of wallet. Collaborate and work closely with various product teams (treasury solution sales, trade finance, markets, corporate finance, capital markets, investment banking), Risk teams, as well as the broader CCB global network Monitor and support product implementation processes, clients on-boarding process and manage sales CRM platform. Manage the portfolio of the credit relationships, coordinate and supervise the end to end lending process, ensuring the proper application of policies and institutional processes. Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citi’s, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policies, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency. Verify adherence to global KYC (Know Your Customer) standards during the onboarding process and, on an ongoing basis, ensuring the appropriate compliance deliverables are met. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Citi's policies / guidelines at all times. Develop and build strong relationships & engagement with key business introducers - debt advisory, corporate finance, legal, audit, industry associations and other key industry influencers. Build advocacy and gain market insight. Visible advocate of the CCB Germany franchise in the external market.

Knowledge:

Sound knowledge of banking, treasury / lending / markets products and processes, as well as a solid track record of providing effective and impactful advice and solutions to clients. Experience in Commercial / Relationship Banking with international customers. Demonstrate expert level credit skills, capable of structuring wide range of credit deals and guiding staff through the credit approval process. Demonstrate an expert level of Early Warning Detection skills. Ability to follow through on risks / issues and track them to closure. Must have a sharp business development focus. Demonstrate innovative and forward-looking approach to new opportunities. A proactive approach in looking for ways to develop new and strengthen existing business relationships with clients, delivers a frictionless client experience. Demonstrate thought leadership. Ability to create long-term trust and advisory based relationships will clients. Ability to embrace new technology and understand the role Digitisation plays in the experience that we deliver for our clients. In-depth knowledge of regulations, market practices and bank operations.

Skills / Technical Competencies

Knowledge of German mid-market segment. Independent and well organised while having the ability to work effectively in team settings. Ability to work under pressure and multitask while making sound decisions. Strong attention to detail and setting priorities. Strong focus on delivery, ability to turn concepts into actionable solutions. Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and ability to influence decisions at all levels. ·Strong analytical skills with a motivation to learn. Excellent selling skills while being highly creative, taking on initiatives, and being flexible. Technical skills: MS Office knowledge, and CRM/Salesforce application. Fluency in English and German required (written and spoken).

Education Level

Relevant experience in the field of banking, relationship management, credit. Graduate / Master’s degree. Exceptional candidates who do not meet these criteria will be considered for the role provided they have the necessary skills and experience
