Job Description:

Accountable & responsible for the central sourcing coordination of packaging sub-categories (secondary and tertiary plastic packaging): strategy definition, key transformational initiatives, and key suppliers’ strategic relationship management to ensure delivery of OGSM and macro packaging strategy objectives of quality, service, total cost of ownership, sustainability, innovation, and lean principles.

Responsible for continuous improvement initiatives related to tail spend ($225M and 280 suppliers), categories taxonomy, cost models and sourcing processes.

Supports the central packaging category sourcing team and sourcing network (ASPeN) to ensure the collection and data management of internal & external category data (for MSSM and SRM) and category databases (financial operating processes, spend and material data, market insights, sustainability).

3. Knowledge/Experience: 3 to 7 years of procurement expertise

4. Skills: analyzing data & intelligence, commercial finance, sourcing category expertise, sourcing strategy development, stakeholder & business partnering

What will be your key responsibilities?

Responsible for tail spend rationalization ($225M) initiative to dramatically reduce the number of suppliers (280) and drive efficiencies throughout the spend. Accountable & responsible for the coordination of secondary and tertiary plastic packaging: strategy definition, key transformation initiatives, and strategic relationship management of key suppliers. Drive competitive advantage and continuous improvement for Mars in terms of cost, quality, cash, and service. Promote strategic supplier relationships where appropriate to drive innovation, sustainability and new operating approaches. Responsible for continuous improvement initiatives on category databases (markets, materials, supplier performance, sustainability, and design for circularity), taxonomy definitions for packaging categories (data related to vendors, materials, spend categories), and sourcing process improvements (eRFx, e-sourcing strategies, demand and consignment models). Responsible for coordinating and developing capability and support of cost model initiatives by sub-category. Responsible for supporting financial operating processes such as forecasting along with identifying risks and opportunities to financial standards including effective price risk management where possible to ensure 6 months neutral cover. Coordinate cross-functionally with R&D, SQA, COP, and Supply to drive stakeholder alignment and effective peer working relationships. Ensure work is consistent with Commercial policies and procedures for his/her will recommend and implement supply base strategy, including assessing and developing suppliers. Benchmarking, leading RFP activity and driving the qualification/implantation of new suppliers. You will also manage supplier governance, including supplier performance auditing. Direct oversight of ($100m) in spend.
