The Innovations & Future Technologies research department at Mercedes-Benz AG is one of the pioneers in the automotive industry and a trailblazer for future-oriented technologies. With us, you will be part of the System Concepts & Realization team and can help shape the future technologies of Mercedes-Benz alongside experienced engineers. Test vehicles, laboratory space, workshops and various facilities are available for this purpose. These include machines and testing technology from the fields of robotics, machining and plastics processing.
Your tasks will include planning, monitoring and coordinating individual projects from the initial idea to prototype implementation and supporting a customer study.
These are some of the challenges you will face:
Development and evaluation of concepts of mechatronic superstructures for the representation of kinematized interior components Control technology integration of the individual components in the vehicle interior Planning and organizing the production and construction of functional prototypes with internal and external partners Accompanying the assembly and commissioning activities of innovative interior components Supporting the planning and implementation of a customer study Creation of documentation as well as time and project plans Preparation of project content and results for internal presentationsThe focus of the internship is based on the current project topics of the department and can be tailored to individual interests if necessary. In addition to the specialist practical activities, you will gain an insight into the interdisciplinary working methods of the automotive development departments.
There is always the possibility of continuing the task with scientific consolidation in a final thesis (e.g. Bachelor's/Master's thesis).
Qualifikationen Degree course in engineering (mechanical engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering, automotive engineering, aerospace engineering or a comparable course) Basic electrical engineering desirable Programming knowledge desirable (e.g. Python, C, C++) CAD knowledge desirable (preferably Siemens NX) Confident written and spoken German and English skills Confident handling of MS Office Commitment and ability to work in a team Analytical mindset and strategic way of working Enjoy creative working methods, independence, good comprehension skills Manual dexterity desirable Driving license class B requiredAdditional information:
