We are a wholly owned subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz AG and are responsible for the Mercedes-Benz Museum and Mercedes-Benz Classic at the Stuttgart and Fellbach sites.

In the Mercedes-Benz Group Archive, we maintain and develop the "memory" of our Group, which invented the automobile with its original companies over years ago and has had a decisive influence on the development of mobility in every era. We document this exciting company and product history in both analog and digital form.

Archive? Dusty? Not at all Even if we are primarily concerned with history, we are still driven by the future and how we can best set up and further develop the Group archive for this. With its unique knowledge base, this is the "memory" of the company and one of the largest business archives in Europe. The press archive and the library are integral parts of the central Group archive, alongside the corporate and product archives.

What you can expect:

Responsibility for the press archive and library of the Group Archive includes a wide range of tasks:

- Sifting through, evaluating and entering books and journals as well as processing existing book and journal collections and systematically integrating them into the library.

- Reviewing the holdings for content completeness and consistency (up-to-dateness of the holdings and their documentation in terms of content quality management)

- Monitoring processes such as document delivery and, if necessary, developing and submitting proposals for further development

- Supporting and advising (e.g. additional sources, expanding the depth of content) internal and external applicants for approved searches

- Ensuring the functionality of the press archive and library, including taking archive-relevant measures to protect the archive materials in the sense of practical quality management (e.g. monitoring the condition of the archive materials, preventing mold, pests, etc.).

- Representing the field of work and participating in overarching projects

Qualifikationen

What we expect:

- A degree in archives - or comparable training - is essential. Knowledge of librarianship would be a decisive advantage.

- Proven experience of several years in a comparable position

- Experienced in the digital and analog acquisition and indexing of media, in particular press releases, press kits, magazines and books

- Cooperative working style and confident dealing with service providers and customers

- Structured way of working for the optimal connection of content and systems

- High level of understanding along relevant guidelines and codes

- Ability to work independently with high-quality results - even under time pressure

- Excellent communication skills, strong organizational skills and strong customer focus

- Fluency in written and spoken German and English

- Outstanding commitment with great interest in a team-oriented way of working

- Very good MS Office skills and demonstrable knowledge of database and system management

- Knowledge of the history of Mercedes-Benz and its predecessor companies and/or automotive history in general
