Strategic Procurement Specialist

Are you looking for development, change and growth? Do you have strategic acumen and an agile mindset to form, drive (and maybe lead) our procurement team? We are looking for you to implement and establish Strategic Procurement within Nordson BKG. The Strategic Procurement Specialist will execute strategic procurement tasks and processes for the assigned projects and/or commodities. This will include developing effective supply chain partnerships located in best cost region, driving supplier performance, managing supplier risk, leading negotiations and initiatives to consolidate part numbers, optimize supplier base, and minimize material spend, and collaborating with Nordson’s global procurement resources to leverage global scale.

Your profile:

Drive evaluation and development of supply chain partnerships with a view to locate in best cost region Build and execute a process to manage and optimize supplier performance and risk Drive achievement of supplier quality and OTD targets In collaboration with engineering, support initiatives to consolidate part numbers Plan and execute consolidation of supplier base to leverage scale Plan and execute projects and initiatives to continuously improve purchasing conditions Plan and execute projects and initiatives to continuously reduce material spend Minimise working capital through continuous improvement of supplier payment terms Achieve material productivity targets, including generation and conversion of relevant funnels If assigned, lead projects and initiatives to continuously reduce indirect spend, including freight/logistics spend Collaborate with global Nordson procurement teams to leverage scale and exchange best practice Manage any procurement-related analysis and reporting Drive continuous improvement through everyday application of the Nordson Business System (NBS Next)

Education and Experience

University degree or diploma in business or relevant technology preferred More than 3 years of professional related business experience in strategic procurement Lean manufacturing experience and/or Six Sigma trained; strong process mind set Excellent English and German language capability required, additional languages preferred Excellent written and verbal communications skills at all levels Strong interpersonal and networking skills to manage a wide range of stakeholders including maintaining excellent relationships within the Nordson organization at all levels Highly proactive with the ability to make decisions and drive all areas of the business Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines Solid business acumen, problem solving skills
