Senior Simulation Engineer – Autonomous Systems

Your mission
- Development of a realistic simulation environment for autonomous systems - from scratch, without templates
- Mathematical modeling of the environment, dynamic objects, sensor behavior and environmental influences (e.g. wind, terrain, traffic)
- Creation of a physically sound basis for system tests, sensor processing and decision logic
- Integration of own modules in frameworks such as Gazebo, CARLA or comparable tools
- Collaboration with robotics, AI and hardware teams to realistically map the environment
- Support with test automation, evaluation and scenario design
Your profile
Must have:
- Very good knowledge of mathematical modeling and physically based simulation
- Experience with C++ (possibly combined with Python for tools/scripting)
- Practical experience with simulation engines such as Gazebo, CARLA or similar - but with a focus on in-house development, not configuration
- Ability to build own models for environment, dynamics and sensors
- Technical background in robotics, autonomous driving or related fields
- Experience with ROS / ROS2
- Knowledge of sensor technology (camera, lidar, radar, acoustics)
- Experience with validation and testing of autonomous systems
- Intrinsic motivation and willingness to go the extra mile, as well as attention to detail
- Creativity that thinks outside the box as well as conceptual and systematic design thinking and disciplined execution
- Servant leadership that puts the success of the team above their ego
- Highest moral standards and work ethic

- Fluent in English or German
- Citizenship of a NATO member state or close ally is a must
