About the roleAs a Senior Simulation Engineer, you will lead the development and integration of advanced simulation environments to support robotics research, testing, and deployment. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to design realistic physics-based simulations, implement complex robotic behaviors, and optimize rendering and performance. Your work will directly impact the development and validation of real-world robotic systems by providing scalable, high-fidelity virtual testing environments. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of physics, software engineering, and robotics. Your ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and maintain scalable and high-fidelity simulation environments for various robotic systems (e.g., manipulators, mobile robots, humanoid robots)Develop and integrate realistic sensor models (e.g., LiDAR, cameras, IMUs, force/torque sensors) into simulation platformsCreate accurate kinematic and dynamic models of robots and their interactions with the environmentCollaborate with controls, planning, perception, and software engineers to ensure simulations accurately reflect real-world robot behavior and performanceDevelop tools and pipelines for simulation data analysis, visualization, and automated testingIdentify, diagnose, and resolve simulation fidelity issues and discrepancies between simulation and realityDrive the adoption of best practices in simulation development, including modularity, reusability, and performance optimizationContribute to the architectural design and evolution of our simulation infrastructureStay abreast of the latest advancements in robotics simulation tools, techniques, and researchMentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvementEssential SkillsDegree in Robotics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field5+ years of experience in robotics simulation developmentProficient in C++ or Python and in one or more major robotics simulation platforms like Gazebo, Isaac Sim, MuJoCo, or similarStrong understanding of robotics fundamentals (kinematics, dynamics, control, sensor fusion)Experience with 3D modeling and creating realistic simulation environmentsStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailExperience with real-time physics engines and GPU accelerationAs a plus: Knowledge of reinforcement learning or synthetic data generationAs a plus: Familiarity with cloud-based simulations and CI/CD pipelinesWhat we offerA dynamic, highly qualified, and diverse team in which your contributions are reflected directly in our products and used by our international customer baseFlat hierarchies and short decision-making processesExciting and varying tasks for our product portfolioExcellent working environment, modern office space, and flexible working hours with the option of mobile workingAbout usAgile Robots SE is an international high-tech company based in Munich, Germany with a production site in Kaufbeuren and more than 2300 employees worldwide.
