Senior Accountant

Your role

As a Senior Accountant / General Ledger, we are looking for a versatile and dedicated individual with a keen eye for detail. Join our open and welcoming 10-person finance team at Sunday Group and work closely with our Head of Finance and our CFO. 

You will oversee and manage the general ledger and control automatically generated outgoing invoices in our ERP system OdooYou will lead the preparation of monthly financial statements and support the annual financial statements in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB), ensuring that all balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and provisions are completed correctly, independently, and on timeYou will be responsible for preparing advance VAT returns and coordinating with external tax advisors and financial authoritiesYou will manage the fixed asset register, including asset reconciliation, depreciation calculations, and asset disposalsYou will create and reconcile intercompany invoices and payments, ensuring proper intercompany accounting, monthly reconciliations, and adjustmentsYou will support budgeting processes and financial reporting, working closely with the CFO and management to provide accurate reports on revenue, expenses, and forecastsExperience with handling international tax issues (e.g., UK, Poland, Switzerland, Czech Republic) is a plusYou will actively collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth flow of information and help optimize internal accounting and finance processes

Your profile

An apprenticeship preferably as an Accountant, Tax Clerk, or a commercial degree, as well as at least 5 years of professional experience in Accounting/FinanceA sound understanding of the German Accounting Principles (HGB), as well as user knowledge of Excel and ERP systemsYou work in a structured, careful, and proactive manner and can integrate well into an existing teamYou are very interested in the digitalisation and automation of our finance processesYou thrive in a dynamic scale-up environment and are motivated by the challenges of working in a growing company with international focusYou are located in Berlin or nearby, speak B2 level German and English
