Engineering Team Lead, Drive

Are you passionate about building and scaling new businesses? An internal scale up needs your help The Engineering Team Lead for Drive is responsible for helping us launch, iterate, and scale Wolt's entire suite of Logistics-as-a-Service products:

• Wolt Drive: our core delivery-as-a-service product that helps stores tap into our courier partner network to deliver things through their own ecommerce channels.
• Wolt Parcel: an ambitious new early-stage product with which we aim to transform traditional delivery logistics in Europe.
• Packages: our consumer-facing logistics service that allows anyone with the Wolt app to deliver things quickly and conveniently around the city in just a few taps.

• Not only do you get to lead a team of amazing engineers, but you also get to work with a team that's building a new growth arm for Wolt by owning its technical roadmap and deliveries
• You would navigate to the right technical decisions and impactful deliveries in close collaboration with Product Management, Business Stakeholder groups and Technical Account Management
• Your role in shaping the team's future and growth will be significant. You'll be an inspirer, facilitator, and enabler for the team to do what they do best by supporting your team members' personal growth, hosting regular 1on1s, and taking part in recruitment.
• You would lead, mentor, and grow a diverse and talented team of engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and empathy.
• You would raise the bar by ensuring our Drive products meet the highest quality and SRE standards as it scales to larger business volumes

This role can be based in one of our tech hubs in Helsinki or Berlin. We work in a hybrid model which you can read more about here.

• As a leader, your focus is on building a robust foundation of trust, driving empowerment and transparency, and fostering collaborative engagement. You know how to take care of people and achieve ambitious goals together with a servant leadership mindset.
• You excel at unblocking challenges and listening with empathy, showcasing caring behavior that puts others' needs first. You guide and support the team to do what they do best by making personal development plans, hosting regular 1on1s, and participating in recruitment.
• You know what it takes to develop top-quality software, how to support the team to make technical decisions, and enjoy being product obsessed in an agile and dynamic environment
• You are biased for action but also able to indentify when to step back and let the team do its magic.
• You are a good communicator, willing to serve people outside of your team, and a product-oriented and proactive problem solver willing to bring up issues constructively to the team and the whole Wolt Product team.
• You are business result obsessed and look at all engineering deliveries from the perspective of how do we create business value
• You know what it takes to hire excellent engineers for your team, cultivating a safe environment for people to shine and work together.

The compensation will be a combination of monthly pay and DoorDash RSUs. The latter makes it exceptionally easy to be excited about our company growing and doing well, as you'll own a piece of the pie.
