Lucid's Body Structures & Closures Team is looking for a CAD Engineer to design and deliver world leading Body Structures for our electric vehicle platforms.
Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates should have demonstrated the ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment and be excellent at multi-tasking.
Responsibilities:
- Create and modify 3D CAD models for body-in-white (BIW) structures and closures (doors, hoods, tailgates).
- Ensure models meet packaging, styling, and functional requirements.
- Apply design standards, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and best practices.
- Manage interfaces between body structures and other systems.
- Incorporate manufacturing feasibility requirements at component and system level.
- Maintain version control and compliance with company standards.
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical input.
- Support engineering release and change management activities.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience in automotive Body Structures or Closures systems development at OEM or supplier desired
- Proficient with CATIA V5/V6 or 3DX.
- Hands on experience with PLM systems such as Teamcenter, ENOVIA or similar.
- Ability to apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in designs.
- Understanding of common manufacturing process utilized for Body Structures & Closures components.
- Good knowledge of fundamental engineering principles and materials.
- Experience in full life cycle development from concept to prototype to full production is preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent from ABET accredited institution or equivalent body structures automotive experience
