Head of Business Development – Germany (m/w/d)

Location: Germany, hybrid (ideally Düsseldorf, Frankfurt or Munich regions)

Salary: €110 000–€ gross salary per annum plus bonus/commission, company car

French Selection (FS), a leading UK-based international recruitment consultancy, is searching for a Head of Business Development (m/w/d) for a global provider of financial management technology and automation solutions. This company is a trusted partner for major retailers and banks across Europe, recognized for its innovation, client focus, and agile working culture.

Primary Responsibilities

Drive commercial strategy and business growth in Germany, targeting retail and banking sectors.

Identify opportunities, expand key accounts, and develop strategic partnerships.

Build and manage relationships with C-level stakeholders, major enterprise clients, and decision-makers.

Acquire new business in targeted segments, including retail chains, petrol stations, and CIT/channel partners [CIT means
companies that securely transport and handle cash for businesses and banks
]

Lead and mentor a small sales team, ensuring high performance and accountability.

Oversee complex sales cycles involving hardware, software, and managed services.

Collaborate with internal teams to deliver tailored solutions and achieve customer success.

Monitor KPIs, pipeline, market trends, and competitor actions; provide structured reports.

Enhance market credibility and support adoption of front- and back-office automation solutions.

Your Profile

Proven experience in business development or sales leadership in retail technology, automation, payment solutions, banking tech, or B2B environments.

Strong understanding of the German retail and/or banking market, with expertise in managing enterprise or channel relationships.

Demonstrated success in complex deal negotiations, influencing C-suite stakeholders, and achieving measurable results.

Entrepreneurial, proactive, and well-organized, able to work independently and drive initiatives.

Excellent communication skills, respected at senior and operational levels.

Fluent in German and English; other languages beneficial.

Willingness to travel regularly across Germany; preferred location: Munich, Düsseldorf, or Frankfurt.

Base salary €110 000–€ gross per annum plus 30% performance bonus.
