Head of Technology - R&D and Advanced Immersive Systems

The opportunity

We are looking for a senior technology leader to take ownership of the technical direction behind large scale immersive and real time experiences. This is a key leadership role with responsibility for shaping long term technology strategy, guiding multidisciplinary engineering teams, and ensuring the organisation stays at the forefront of XR innovation.

You'll operate at the intersection of strategy and execution, combining deep technical understanding with strong people leadership to help drive the next phase of growth across immersive platforms and products.

What you'll be doing


• Leading, developing, and inspiring an interdisciplinary technology and engineering organisation


• Defining and evolving the company's technical strategy across software, hardware, and platform layers


• Evaluating, selecting, and introducing new technologies and tools to ensure scalable, high performance, future proof XR solutions


• Ensuring strong standards around quality, security, stability, and development efficiency


• Working closely with executive leadership, technical leadership, and key stakeholders to align technology with business objectives


• Building and maintaining strategic technology partnerships while actively tracking market and technology trends


• Owning planning and budgeting for the technology function, including effective resource allocation and prioritisation

What we're looking for


• A degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a comparable technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience


• Significant leadership experience in technically complex environments, ideally spanning XR, VR, AR, gaming, simulation, or advanced consumer technology


• Deep understanding of modern software and hardware architectures, including infrastructure and cloud based systems


• Proven experience building, scaling, and optimising development, operations, and quality frameworks


• A strategic mindset paired with strong hands on execution and delivery capability


• A confident, credible leader with excellent communication and organisational skills, comfortable operating in international environments
