Role Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and preventative maintenance of equipment, machinery, and facilities to ensure smooth and safe operations. This role involves troubleshooting technical issues, performing routine inspections, and collaborating with other teams to maintain optimal functionality of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically skilled, and proactive in identifying and resolving maintenance issues to minimize downtime and support operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment, machinery, and building systems.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and other technical issues efficiently and safely.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies to minimize operational disruption.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and parts usage.
  • Assist in installing, calibrating, and testing new equipment or systems.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with operations and production teams to identify maintenance needs and schedule preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain an inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies required for routine and emergency maintenance.
  • Recommend improvements or upgrades to equipment, systems, and maintenance procedures.
  • Support facility management tasks, including minor carpentry, painting, and structural repairs.
  • Participate in training sessions and stay updated on new technologies and maintenance practices.
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance, electrical, mechanical, or related fields is preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in maintenance, facilities management, or technical repair roles.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC knowledge.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, including OSHA or local safety standards.
  • Good organizational and record-keeping abilities.
  • Physical ability to perform manual tasks, lift heavy objects, and work in varying conditions.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or emergency call-outs if required.
