CGI Specialist (m/f/d) — TEAMS Design Hamburg

TEAMS Design Hamburg is hiring a CGI Specialist to support product visualization and animation across multiple industries (consumer, medical, mobility, industrial).

About TEAMS

International design firm specializing in Industrial Design, UX, and Interaction Design

Hamburg studio located in Winterhude with 30+ employees in this Studio. This role contributes to developing the CGI department. Flexible hours and hybrid work available.

Role Overview

You will create photo-realistic 3D product renderings, animations, and visual assets from storyboard to final post-production. You will work with Industrial Design, UX, Strategy, and AI teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce product visualizations, animations, and key visuals
  • Handle look development (materials, lighting, rendering)
  • Establish CGI workflows and best practices
  • Manage small–mid-size projects (planning, prioritization, quality control)
  • Participate in client presentations and feedback rounds
  • Support development of the CGI department
  • Use AI tools for efficiency, variations, and post-production

Required Skills

3D & Modeling

  • Advanced: Blender or 3ds Max
  • Basic: Rhino
  • Experience with data prep, retopology, UV mapping, mesh optimization
  • Optional (can be learned): Alias, Fusion 360

Rendering & Post

  • V-Ray or KeyShot
  • Material creation, lighting, look dev
  • Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere
  • AI Workflows

Generative imaging

  • Image-to-3D
  • AI-assisted post-production (e.g., Midjourney, Vizcom, ComfyUI, ChatGPT)

Profile

  • 3–5 years in CGI, 3D generalist, or motion design roles
  • Strong understanding of lighting, materials, and composition
  • Able to manage multiple projects independently
  • Confident in client-facing communication
  • German and English: business fluent
  • Motivated to work with AI-enabled workflows

Additional Requirements

  • Strong CGI portfolio/showreel with process insight
  • Degree in design/media/CGI or equivalent
  • Skills in product animation
  • Advanced Adobe Creative Suite + Substance Painter
  • Poly modeling in 3ds Max / Maya / Blender; parametric modeling a plus
  • Experience with rendering tools (e.g., Blender, 3ds Max, V-Ray)
  • Ability to independently build and post-produce complex scenes
  • Solid storyboarding skills
  • Team-oriented and detail-focused
