Zalando's B2C strategy emphasises quality, expanding lifestyle categories (called propositions), and enhancing fashion discovery, together with our partners on our Platform. A "platform-first" approach drives business dynamics & creates value through relevant customer experiences. Our priority is increasing platform attractiveness and partner profitability, as their success is crucial for the platform's overall effectiveness.
As a Head of PPB Finance (all genders), you are the go-to person with respect to all financial aspects of the Platform business. You & your team are responsible for the financial planning, steering & execution of the business strategy to exponentially grow the platform business in a profitable manner. In addition, you will also lead and drive financial workstreams and business cases to ensure our investments in the program deliver the highest ROI and that we focus on delivering the biggest building blocks in 2026 and beyond. Your key stakeholder will be the VP of PPB. In addition, you will collaborate closely across senior business leaders (within PPB and across Propositions) as well as across finance teams (Business Finance Organisation, FP&A & Accounting).

WHAT WE'D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)
- You will be a finance partner to VP PPB, translate business strategy into actionable building blocks and steer execution with relevant metrics and targets
- You will be responsible for financial planning in a matrix organisation across short-term and long-term horizons; this will require stakeholder alignment to ensure consistent partner business inputs and outputs across teams
- You will drive critical business cases cross-functionally to guide the decision-making process of senior leaders & build learning agendas through post-mortem analysis.
- You will shape & steer key processes (e.g. monthly business reviews), drive improvement initiatives and ensure the business is delivering its goals
- You are expected to ask the tough questions before senior management does it
- From day one, you are leading, motivating, and developing a team, prioritising and supporting them
- You are a well-rounded senior finance leader with 10+ years of expertise in Retail, and developing a best-in-class Finance team
- You come with professional experience in a fast-paced environment and have mastered complex, unstructured tasks with a strong sense of ownership, drive and ability to organise
- You are a team player and have demonstrated leading projects in matrix organisations
- You have a strategic thinking and problem-solving mindset, and you can diligently translate thoughts into concrete action items by leveraging data
- You have outstanding stakeholder management and communications skills across all channels
- You have a track record of successfully leading teams through transformation and are comfortable with a flexible, less structured environment where new ideas and processes are frequently (re-)designed and implemented
- You are fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Prior experience in Platforms and/or Fashion sector is a plus
