Transform the Accounting function into a strategic enabler of GetYourGuide's growth ambitions by advancing technology, optimizing processes, developing talent, and aligning with strategic initiatives to navigate complex initiatives and global expansion.

We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Director of Accounting to lead our global accounting operations at GetYourGuide. In this influential leadership role, you will be responsible for upholding the integrity of our financial reporting, ensuring compliance across diverse markets, and driving meaningful process improvements as we scale further. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will guide a talented team and collaborate across functions to support our ambitious growth and international expansion. Your mission

• Lead and develop the accounting team of 30+ team members (growing), fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture.
• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Oversee global accounting operations
• Ensure compliance with local GAAP requirements across group entities.
• Develop, implement, and maintain SOX-compliant internal controls and documentation.
• Manage external audits (e.g., as per PCOAB standards) and relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and other stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes, systems, and controls; lead automation and process optimization initiatives.
• Partner with Group Reporting, FP&A, Legal, and Business teams to support strategic projects, M&A, and new market entries.
• Prepare and present financial statements and reports to senior stakeholders as well as executive management
• Monitor changes in accounting standards and regulations to ensure company-wide compliance.
• Mentor, coach, and develop accounting staff, supporting professional growth and upskilling.

Your toolkit

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification preferred.
• 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role in a global, fast-paced environment (tech or e-commerce experience a plus).
• Deep knowledge of HGB, IFRS, and other local GAAP; experience with multi-entity, multi-currency operations.
• Strong understanding of accounting systems (e.g., SAP) and process automation.
• Proven track record of managing audits, tax compliance, and internal controls.
• Excellent communication skills; ability to influence and collaborate across all levels.
• High attention to detail, analytical mindset, and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
• Experience in scaling teams and processes in a high-growth environment.
