Our Leipzig International Kindergarten, opened in June 2014, provides over 270 children aged 1 to 6 with a full-day, year-round, early education programme, which aims at supporting each child's personal, social, academic, physical and emotional development in an international setting.

Your tasks and responsibilitiesCollaborate with partners and team members to deliver a strong programme based on playing and exploring, inquiring, active learning and critical thinking Develop age-appropriate, child-focused and unit-based engagements based on the guidelines, ethos and objectives provided by Saxony's State Curriculum for Kindergarten (Sächsischer Bildungsplan) and the Early Years Foundation StageLook for opportunities to promote development that fosters the children's love of learning, curiosity, creativity and independenceProvide stimulating and empowering environments for children to discover and exploreObserve, support, guide and participate in children's playCommunicate with parents and colleagues about children in your careUse assessment tools for development and learning in order to focus on children's progress and plan their next stepsWork with a team of colleagues to continuously improve the overall quality of care, education and learning at Leipzig International School KindergartenSupport the children with life skills, including dressing, toileting, and independent eatingParticipate in weekly and monthly planning meetings and other professional development opportunitiesYour profileA qualification in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Social Pedagogy, Vocational Training as State Approved Educator, or a related degree in accordance with the qualification ordinance of the state of SaxonyDemonstrated experience in Early Years education, particularly with children aged 1–7 yearsStrong musical skills and the ability to lead engaging, developmentally appropriate music sessions for young childrenExperience designing and implementing play-based, child-centered learning experiencesAbility to observe, assess, and document children's learning and development effectivelyExcellent interpersonal and communication skills for working collaboratively with children, colleagues, and familiesA caring, flexible, and team-oriented mindset, with the ability to adapt to different group settings as a FloaterCompetence in maintaining a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environmentBasic proficiency with digital tools for documentation and parent communication (e.g. Seesaw)Fluency in written and verbal English or German, with basic understanding in the otherInternational and growth mindsetsWhat we offerA dynamic and diverse workplace which continues to develop good education and learning practicesA substantial preparation time contingency30 days of paid vacationA flexible model of working that effectively supports the needs of studentsExcellent resources and a modern purpose-build facility that hosts a wide range of indoor classrooms and play spaces as well as a spacious, landscaped outdoor learning environmentThe benefit of ongoing internal and external professional developmentCompany benefits such as company pension scheme, supplementary health insurance, moving allowance, JobRad Leasing, financial assistance to attend a language course etc.
