Senior Corporate FP&A Controller

For our Senior Corporate FP&A Controller, we are looking for a new colleague at our Munich office. As part of the FP&A team you will be joining a highly successful buy-and-build portfolio company, with revenues in excess of EUR 900m, and healthy profits. The company is held by two international world class leading Private Equity (PE)-firms, with an ambitious growth agenda.
The senior controller will be involved in a wide range of activities supporting the overall FP&A processes: strategic financial planning, including budgeting and rolling forecasting, managing various strategic important projects end-to-end, performance management, and business partnering. The aim is to provide actionable intelligence for unlocking value creation across the organization. This role is a position within Veonet Group HQ, reporting to the FP&A Director.
The FP&A team works directly for the group CFO, and is breeding ground for new talent. It's a high-paced environment with strong exposure to C-suite, country leadership teams and world-class leading Private Equity owners. It is a unique position with interfacing daily with a wide variety of stakeholders (PE owners, country management, country FP&A controllers, group M&A, group procurement, treasury, accounting, etc), creating fast-track career development.
Financial Modelling
– Responsible for various FP&A deep-dives, presentations and models related to financial planning and results management.
As example, this includes: developing scenario models (in excel and our brand-new IBM Planning Analytics system), identifying the key drivers in business performance and market and showing how changes in these would impact P&L results, balance sheet, business KPIs, cashflows, and equity.Strategic Projects
– Run (large scale) projects on various strategic important topics, in order to improve value creation and key insights in the business.
As an example, this includes: Working with countries to create a group wide view on IT spend, identify opportunities in close connection with out IT and procurement teams, to together create value. But also working with our investors and advisors for preparation of a successful exit in due course.Performance management
– Analyzing and challenging the results of various operating companies.
As an example, this includes: Setting up new performance steering into clinical performance via KPI/Management-by-Objective logic across the full company. Act as 'spider-in-the-web' bringing different operational disciplines together and help steer on what is important.
And create an efficient scale processes build them into our data structures.
To succeed in this role, you have the following skills and experience:
- The ideal candidate has the DNA to be results oriented, with an eye for detail while overseeing the big picture. Able to articulate complex issues in a crisp and clear manner
- Masters's degree in e.g. Finance, Economics or Econometrics, Business studies, or other quantitative study such as Engineering
- Minimum of 7 years relevant work experience; diverse backgrounds from M&A, Transaction Services, strategy consulting, valuation, or investment banking appreciated. As well as in FP&A/Business Control in a high-paced professional environment
- Be able to present and communicate to senior management and board level
- Excel Rockstar, PowerPoint Wizard, Think-cell native and ideally IBM Analytics savvy (or alike packages such as Oracle HFM, etc)
This role is based in Munich where our group office is located, and where senior leadership is also based.
