Student Research Assistant

The GIGA seeks to hire a Student Research Assistant (m/f/d) to support the research project "WONAGO". The weekly working hours are 15 hours, and the contract term is 12 months starting as soon as possible (earliest from 1 November Remuneration is based on the hourly rate for student assistants at the University of Hamburg and currently amounts to €13.98 (bachelor's student) / €16.05 (master's student) per hour.
As part of the team, you will:
- Collect and code data for a dataset on the official speeches of political leaders in select countries.
- Support the development of a comparative dataset on populism and foreign policy.
- Support the organization of the project events.
- Assist with literature reviews in relevant fields.
- Participate in meetings and get to know the GIGA. Your qualifications:
- Very good proficiency in English. German-language skills are not a pre-requisite.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and reliably.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Word and Excel.
- Prior experience with data collection, qualitative or quantitative coding, or dataset management is not required but advantageous.
