Account Executive, Germany

The Account Executive is responsible for driving new customer acquisition and expanding Rapid7's footprint within their designated market. You will own the full sales cycle, build strong customer relationships, and deliver cybersecurity solutions that solve meaningful business challenges. This is a high-impact, quota-carrying role with strong opportunities for growth and development.

About the Team

Our Sales organisation partners closely with customers to help secure their digital environments using Rapid7's full product portfolio. Account Executives are supported by Business Development, Channel, Solutions Engineering, and Customer Success teams to drive customer outcomes and long-term growth. You'll be part of a highly collaborative, customer-focused group committed to delivering value at every stage of the journey.

About the Role

As an Account Executive, your primary responsibility is to generate and close new business opportunities. Specifically, you will:

  • Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities

  • Prospect creatively to source new leads and align Rapid7's offerings to customer needs

  • Stay informed about market trends and competitor offerings

  • Leverage customer insights to influence strategic decisions and drive business outcomes

  • Collaborate with Channel, Solutions Engineering, Sales Operations, and Customer Success to ensure seamless onboarding and ongoing account growth

  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills

  • A growth mindset with the ability to adapt quickly

  • A customer-centric approach to problem solving

  • Experience in full-cycle software or technology sales, ideally cybersecurity

  • Demonstrated success generating revenue through prospecting and new business creation

  • Ability to manage complex sales cycles and engage multiple stakeholders

  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to uncover customer pain points

  • Resilience, drive, and competitiveness in a target-driven environment

  • Ability to work autonomously while managing competing priorities

  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM tools

  • Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage

  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet customers and partners
