Senior Accountant (m/w/d)
. This
full-time
and
permanent position
can be based
in Cologne or Munich
, with a
hybrid working model
(2-3 days per week in the office).

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the administration, bookkeeping and preparation of financial statements for various Germany companies
  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and year-end closings
  • Prepare interim accounts on behalf of the client as necessary
  • Liaise and interact with clients, other offices and client advisors, in order to prepare the financial statements
  • Support the audit of financial statements (where required)
  • Support the preparation of VAT / CIT returns (where required)
  • Support the preparation of financial reports (Local GAAP, US GAAP or IFRS) (where required)
  • Record the working hours/client in the time billing system according to the objectives set

  • Share your knowledge and experience with your colleagues
  • Coach and review the work of other team members
  • Be a buddy for new joiners in the team, in order to train and guide them

Attributes/Technical Skills

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, clients and third parties including lawyers, bankers, tax advisors and notaries Be a team player and be supportive towards your colleagues Take initiative by proactively following up on daily matters Anticipate potential queries and issues. Address these queries in a timely manner by informing the responsible Senior Manager, Accountant and/or Relationship Manager Be a role model to less senior colleagues in terms of professionalism and behaviour Ensure that client deadlines are met Adhere to internal procedures at all times

Relevant Experience

  • Strong Knowledge of German GAAP, (IFRS, Consolidation and/or USGaap would be an advantage)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with a professional services firm
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills in order to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Proactive with a client service orientated attitude
  • Ability to develop and grow our commercial business activity

Education And Professional Qualification

  • University degree in Accounting/Finance, (ACCA-qualified or part qualified would be a distinct advantage)
