Mental Growth Network (MGN)

Help amplify Europe's most important mental health and neuroscience innovation stories - from hackathons and podcasts to education, evidence-based insights, accelerator journeys and real-world adoption - through the MGN Media Channel.

Type: Volunteer (Unpaid) | ~4-8 hours/week

Commitment: Minimum 4 months

Location: Remote

Language: Fluency in English required

About the MGN Media Production Team

MGN is building a distributed, specialist-based media team to create high-integrity video, audio, and social content aligned with our mission, ethics, and voice.

Open Volunteer Roles - Media Production

Speaker / On-Camera Contributor

Responsibilities

Appear on camera for short interviews, statements, and educational video content.

Represent mental health innovation, research, or professional practice from an EU perspective.

Participate in recorded discussions linked to hackathons, education initiatives, and policy-related topics.

Profile

Comfortable speaking on camera.

Clear, calm, and professional communication style.

Background in mental health, neuroscience, education, technology, or innovation is a strong plus.

Audio Editor (Podcasts & Interviews)

Responsibilities

Edit podcast episodes and recorded interviews.

Clean audio, remove background noise, and balance sound levels.

Ensure clear pacing and consistent audio quality.

Prepare final audio files for publication.

Profile

Experience with audio editing tools (e.g. Audition, Reaper, Logic).

Strong attention to sound quality and pacing.

Ability to follow basic editorial guidelines.

Video Editor (Short-Form & Long-Form | Editing + Captions)

Responsibilities

Edit short-form videos for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and LinkedIn

Support long-form video content, including interviews, panels, and hackathon recordings.

Add accurate, mobile-readable captions (burned-in or platform-ready files).

Apply MGN branding and visual guidelines, including fonts, colors, spacing, and basic motion elements.

Prepare and deliver platform-ready video files on agreed timelines.

Profile

Experience with video editing tools such as Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.

Comfortable working with raw footage and varied recording quality.

Understanding of vertical and horizontal video formats and platform requirements.

Content Integrity & Ethics Specialist

Responsibilities

Review scripts, captions, and edited content across AI-assisted, short-form, and long-form media.

Check factual credibility, responsible framing, and mental-health-safe language.

Ensure alignment with MGN's ethics, tone, and values.

Flag risks and suggest light clarifications (no rewrites, no publishing).

Profile

Background in mental health, neuroscience, psychology, public health, or a related field.

Strong understanding of ethical public communication and content responsibility.

Ability to assess credibility and sources at a high level.

Clear, constructive communication style.

Social Media Publisher (Posting & Scheduling)

Responsibilities

Publish approved content across social media platforms.

Schedule posts according to the shared content calendar.

Ensure correct formatting, captions, hashtags, and links for each platform.

Follow posting guidelines and platform-specific requirements.

Profile

Experience with major social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok).

Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented.

Comfortable executing content based on clear instructions and guidelines.

Social Media Analyst (Engagement & Performance)

Responsibilities

Track basic engagement metrics, including views, reach, saves, and comments.

Identify patterns, trends, and simple performance insights.

Prepare and share short monthly performance summaries with the core team.

Profile

Analytical mindset and attention to detail.

Familiarity with social platform analytics or simple dashboards.

Ability to explain insights clearly (no heavy data science required).

Media Partnerships & Co-Projects - Influencers

Responsibilities

Identify relevant influencers aligned with mental health, education, or innovation.

Support outreach and relationship-building with selected creators.

Contribute to the co-creation of content or campaigns.

Help coordinate influencer collaborations and timelines.

Profile

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Understanding of influencer ecosystems and collaboration models.

Values-driven approach to partnerships and alignment with MGN's mission.

Media Partnerships & Co-Projects - NGOs & Institutions

Responsibilities

Support collaboration with NGOs, universities, institutions, and public bodies.

Help shape and deliver co-branded media initiatives.

Coordinate shared content, campaigns, or joint visibility activities.

Profile

Experience or interest in institutional collaboration.

Professional communication style.

Understanding of NGO, academic, or public-sector environments.
