Mechanical Commissioning Lead – Data Centre Project, Frankfurt, Germany

Our client is seeking an experienced
Mechanical Commissioning Lead
to join their team on a major hyper-scale Data Centre construction project in Frankfurt. This is an exceptional opportunity to work on one of Europe's flagship developments with a leading international contractor in the mission-critical sector.

As the Commissioning Lead, you will oversee and manage the full
mechanical commissioning lifecycle
, ensuring all systems are tested, commissioned, and handed over in line with project specifications, safety standards, and programme requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coordinate, and manage all electrical commissioning activities on the data centre project.
  • Oversee commissioning teams, subcontractors, and specialist vendors.
  • Develop, review, and maintain commissioning schedules, procedures, and documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with project management, design, and construction teams to ensure commissioning readiness.
  • Review commissioning plans, method statements, and testing protocols.
  • Ensure full compliance with client requirements, company standards, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Track progress, report commissioning status, and ensure timely system handover.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical commissioning issues effectively.
  • Participate in client, consultant, and stakeholder meetings, providing technical updates and

reports.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or equivalent.
  • Minimum
    5 years' mechanical commissioning experience
    on large-scale construction projects.
  • Proven background in
    data centres or mission-critical environments
    is essential.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, integration, and high-reliability infrastructure.
  • Excellent leadership, planning, and communication capabilities.
  • Experience managing multinational teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be eligible to work in the EU/EEA or possess the right to work in Germany.
