We are excited to use our unique and large article and customer datasets to tackle the challenge of Size & Fit using ML and Computer Vision techniques.

You will join our multidisciplinary Zurich & Berlin-based Size and Fit Team, composed of Machine Learning Researchers, Software Engineers, Designers, Product and Business Managers from 30+ different nationalities. We provide advice on customer size and fit choices and conduct focused experiments using emerging technologies to solve the challenges.

You will take on this complex and important topic working side by side with our Product Specialists and Applied Scientists. We have great problems to solve, a huge customer base to impact, and we are a team that loves to have fun. 'Size and Fit' is a human topic. We use machines to help solve our customers' challenges. But we never forget—size and fit success is defined by how customers feel when they wear fashion.

• Bring your business data-driven analytical approach to the Size & Fit Team; you generate hypotheses and try to test them by performing descriptive, exploratory, and quantitative analyses. You can translate metrics from algorithmic and data products into actionable business insights. You know when a hypothesis can only be tested by an experiment, and you can help create and drive them.

• You are comfortable designing A/B tests end-to-end and bringing actionable insights from the results to the team

• You are the connector between the Applied Science team and the Product team. You can translate the Size and Fit benefits to answer complex business questions and identify and measure commercial opportunities. 

• Be a reliable partner for the Size & Fit Team when related to commercial reporting and analytics, and support the Team with more complex analysis.

• Avoid working in silos by collaborating with cross-functional leaders from Applied Science, Product, Content and Customer Analytics to drive innovation. You incorporate data from different sources within and outside of Zalando to drive projects. 

• You have a proven track record of 5+ experience as a Data Analyst or similar role. A university degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Quantitative social science, or a comparable subject. 

• Strong technical background with advanced SQL skills and programming background, including, but not limited to, Python and Spark. Excellent knowledge in coding for data retrieval, exploration and analysis. Advanced statistical testing skills. Constant drive and tenacity to learn new techniques and tools are a must.

• Proven experience in setting up and running A/B tests end-to-end.

• Understanding of the economics of online platforms and/or online fashion retailers, as well as the commercial KPIs governing their success.

• Strong communication to convince technical and non-technical audiences with the insights you generate and compelling data-driven storytelling that enables decision-making.

• Enjoy working cross-functionally; you have great stakeholder management skills to work with different levels of management to support, challenge, and bring solutions.

• Hands-on mentality, a person who always finds solutions to challenges. You are proactive, can adapt quickly to changes, and always remain focused on our quality objectives.
