Content Manager

We are one of the fastest-growing podcast and audiobook platforms in Europe and we are now looking for a Content Manager to join our growing team in Berlin, Germany.

The Content Manager is responsible for commissioning and managing podcast formats exclusively for the Podimo platform. The Manager is part of the local content team and is responsible for the end-to-end project management of original and exclusive audio content across many genres and audiences. This includes editorial oversight, creator management, and along with the creator or production partner, ensuring each and every show finds and retains its potential audience and helps to add, engage and retain users to Podimo efficiently.

The role leads a range of commissioned titles that are aligned with the overall strategic business objectives of Podimo. The Content Manager reviews and analyses data on the titles within their portfolio and works closely with stakeholders, both internal (local and global commercial teams, creator platform and global content) and external (creators and production companies), to maximise the performance and activation of the shows.

Content Strategy: 

• Collaborating with the Head of Content and team to define content strategies that cater to target audiences and reflect current trends.

Commissioning & Acquisition: 

• Source and commission original podcasts, and acquire high-quality, exclusive and non-exclusive content that resonates with Podimo target audiences and drive towards strategic goals.

• Assess inbound ideas and productions and provide editorial sparring in the development of new potential productions, both internally and externally.

• Negotiate with production companies and talent within a financial frame developed with the Global Content team.

Creator & Partner Management: 

• Build and maintain strong relationships with independent creators, production companies, talent agents, and other industry stakeholders to attract and retain the best talent. 

• Ensure creators are part of a feedback loop with Podimo, helping them execute against our shared content and product goals while getting valuable insights back from them along the way, making sure they are always heard in what we are building together.

Project Management: 

• Oversee the production process of commissioned projects, ensuring high editorial standards and creative excellence whilst managing budgets and schedules. 

• Provide editorial and commercial feedback to the producers and creator talent, to ensure we are always improving the show's audience and the audience's loyalty to the show.

• Oversee administrative tasks for your shows including production processes, contracts, budgets and performance tracking.

• Develop an optimized launch and distribution strategy.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: 

• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to maximise audience reach and impact.

• You have strong experience in content strategy and commissioning.

• You know how to engage audiences and build creator communities.

• You're confident in making editorial and commercial decisions.

• You have solid skills in project and production management.

• You're experienced in negotiation and contract management.

• You are skilled in both German and English

Naturally, being passionate and knowledgeable about podcasts, audio content, media, and entertainment is a big plus
