Electrical Turnover Engineer

The Turnover Electrical Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all electrical power distribution systems, cabling, switchgear, MCCs, transformers, UPS systems, and associated installations are installed, inspected, and tested in compliance with project specifications, codes, and safety requirements. This role provides leadership in quality verification, documentation control, and the structured handover of electrical systems from construction through commissioning to client operations. The Engineer will coordinate closely with construction teams, subcontractors, and client representatives to secure full compliance and readiness for turnover.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Management
• Lead audits, inspections, and surveillance to confirm quality and safety standards are met.
• Provide on-site quality oversight for cable installation, terminations, equipment installation, and testing.
• Coordinate with client quality personnel for inspections, reviews, and approvals.
Electrical Inspection & Verification
• Oversee inspections and verifications on switchgear, MCCs, transformers, UPS, and power distribution equipment.
• Monitor and validate electrical testing, including insulation resistance, continuity, functional, and loop checks.
• Ensure compliance of pre-commissioning activities and redline documentation with project requirements.
Turnover and System Completion Support
• Coordinate and lead electrical system walkdowns and manage punch list identification and closure.
• Track and oversee resolution of punch items and non-conformances (NCRs) with subcontractors and construction teams.
• Support system boundary confirmations and ensure readiness for Mechanical Completion (MC) and Pre-Commissioning.
Punch List & NCR Management
• Identify, record, and manage closure of electrical punch items and NCRs.
• Collaborate with construction, commissioning, and turnover teams to ensure timely closure of open issues.
Documentation & Handover
• Oversee review, compilation, and validation of electrical documentation, test certificates, material approvals, and redlines.
• Ensure submission of complete and traceable Turnover Dossiers (TOPs) in accordance with client and project requirements.
• Work with commissioning and document control teams to achieve structured and timely handover of electrical systems.
