Senior Backend Engineer

We are looking for a passionate
Senior Backend Engineer (Cloud Services)
to strengthen our growing cloud team. In this role, you will take ownership in shaping and evolving our Quantum Cloud - the backbone of Quantum-Systems' cutting-edge aerial data solutions.

You will design, build, and optimize scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services that empower our unmanned aerial systems (sUAV) to deliver world-class data collection capabilities. With your expertise, you'll directly contribute to Quantum-Systems' mission to become the global leader in aerial intelligence.

What is your Day to Day Mission:

• Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable and performant backend systems using cutting-edge technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and implement product requirements.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that adheres to best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex backend issues to ensure system uptime and stability.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest backend technologies and cloud trends.
• Contribute to the overall architecture and design of our backend systems.
• Mentor and guide junior developers to help them grow and develop their skills.

What you bring to the team:

• 5+ years of experience in backend development. (Java/.Net)
• Proven ability to design, implement, and maintain applications leveraging Java and the Spring platform.
• Deep expertise in Azure cloud offerings, including App Service, Functions, and Cosmos DB. Exposure to multi-cloud environments (e.g., GCP, AWS) is a plus.
• Strong experience with designing, developing, and deploying cloud-based backend systems.
• Strong background in relational databases and SQL (e.g., Azure SQL Database, PostgreSQL, MySQL) with hands-on experience in performance tuning, schema design, and query optimization.
• Strong understanding of modern authentication and authorization protocols (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, PKCE, JWT).
• In-depth knowledge of RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Experience with data processing pipelines in a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
