We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team and play a crucial role in enhancing the quality and effectiveness of our data landscape and the positive impact data has on Tourlane and our customers.

WHAT IS THE ROLE ABOUT? 

• Closely collaborating with data analysts, analytics engineers and other consumers of Tourlane data to maintain and incrementally improve our hosted data services
• Improving and extending our existing data ELT processes, focusing on our 'bronze' and 'silver' layer within our data architecture
• Implementing automation features for the GDPR compliance of our data warehouse 
• Supporting analysts in remodeling their domain specific data in order to migrate into our new DWH structure (Medallion Architecture), if needed 
• Consulting our internal data producers in non-breaking data changes and modeling
• Coaching less experienced colleagues (i.e. analysts) across our data stack and strongly contributing to our department-wide data governance initiatives 

WHAT WILL YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL?

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and orchestration tools
• Proficiency in building and scaling, monitoring, and maintaining data pipelines
• Strong communication with stakeholders with different levels of coding / data experience
• Mid-level knowledge in SQL and dbt, experienced working with relational databases and solid programming skills in Python
• Experience with modern data modeling concepts and data warehousing architecture
• Knowledge of data management fundamentals and data storage principles
