Job Description:

Location: Monolithic Power Solutions in Ettenheim (Germany)

About the job

During the Internship as Hardware Testing and EMC Engineer, you will work with MPS Engineers at the Application and EMC-Laboratory at Ettenheim. You will be supporting the evaluation and validation of components and board design as well as working in test-standardization and EMC compliance testing.

Some of your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

- IC validation and characterization, optimization and automatization of existing measurements and test concepts. Characterization of key product parameters using laboratory instruments (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, pattern generator…).

- PCB layout of evaluation boards, characterization/validation boards and system demonstrator.

- EMC performance testing.

- Data analysis, evaluation and presentation of measurement data.

The internship is composed of 3 pillars:

- Own project which is based on personal interests and skills of the Intern (60%)

- Integration into the daily working tasks of the engineers (25%).

* Supporting of the regular tasks at the laboratory

- Organization, maintenance and administrative tasks at the laboratory (15%)
* Market analysis and search for components and measuring instruments

Qualifications

- First experience in the space of switched mode power supplies, loads switches, linear regulator, motor drivers etc.

- Hardware bench experience in power electronics (including PCB design).

- EDA tool knowledge (OrCAD PCB design software solution)

- Proficiency with bench test equipment (i.e, power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes etc …)

- Programming experience (Labview, Python, C, C#)

- Motivated, open minded, rigorous, out-of-the-box thinker.

- Able to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions.

- Able to take the initiative and drive for results.

- Fluent communication skills in English.

- Excellent writing and presentation skills.
