Munich, Bayern, Deutschland Destinus Vollzeit

About the role

Imagine stepping into a place where innovation moves fast, hardware burns bright, and every decision counts. As the Health and Safety Specialist for our mission-critical operations, you become the driving force behind a safe, compliant, and high-performance environment. You shape the strategy, the standards, and the culture that keep our teams protected while construction, testing, and active operations move at full speed. This is a role where your decisions matter instantly, your expertise sets the bar, and your leadership defines how safety is embedded across every phase of our operations.

At Destinus, we are revolutionizing the defense industry with cutting-edge Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). Our innovative technologies are designed to meet the unique demands of modern defense operations, delivering unparalleled speed, precision, and cost effectiveness. Destinus partners with government agencies and defense organizations worldwide to provide advanced solutions for mission-critical operations, enabling a new era of efficiency and technological superiority. Join us in shaping the future of defense with groundbreaking aerospace innovations.

What You´ll Do

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs across mission-critical operations.
  • Ensure full compliance with relevant regulations, internal standards, and industry best practices throughout construction, testing, and operational phases.
  • Establish robust safety governance frameworks, including policies, procedures, emergency response plans, and incident management protocols.
  • Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses, and operational readiness reviews to identify and mitigate potential safety and environmental threats.
  • Oversee contractor management and ensure alignment with site safety requirements, work controls, and permit-to-work systems.
  • Provide on-site HS support for daily activities, ensuring safe execution of high-risk operations such as electrical work, mechanical systems integration, heavy lifting operations, and system commissioning tests.
  • Lead incident investigations using structured methodologies, drive root cause identification, and verify effective corrective actions.
  • Present HS performance metrics, trends, and compliance status to leadership with clear recommendations for improvement.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits, ensuring readiness and effective follow-up on findings.

What You'll Need

  • 5+ years of experience in Health and Safety leadership within mission-critical facilities, the aerospace or defense sector, or other large-scale industrial operations.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, industry standards, and best practices, with the ability to interpret and apply them across construction, testing, and operational phases.
  • Demonstrated expertise in risk assessment, hazard analysis, contractor management, and incident investigation.
  • Ability to develop and implement EHS frameworks, policies, and procedures that support both compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to communicate findings and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and coaching abilities to influence safety culture across diverse teams and contractors.
  • Certification in occupational health and safety or related fields is a strong advantage.
  • Fluency in German and English (written and spoken).

Who You Are

You thrive in high-intensity technical environments and bring calm, clarity, and structure to complex operations. You balance operational needs with uncompromising safety standards and communicate with confidence and integrity. You collaborate naturally with engineers, contractors, and leadership, taking ownership when it matters most. You think critically, act decisively, and stay focused under pressure, always driven by the responsibility to protect people and enable safe, high-performance operations.
