We are looking for a Data Engineering team lead (m/f/d) to lead a team of engineers responsible for building and maintaining the data foundations that power our marketing, commercial, and analytics domains. This role combines people leadership with hands-on technical depth in Python, SQL, and modern data engineering practices.

You will ensure the team delivers high-quality, scalable data pipelines and models, works effectively with cross-functional partners, and operates with strong ownership and engineering excellence.

Your responsibilities:  

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Data Engineers, fostering a high-performing and collaborative culture
• Own the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines supporting B2C marketing, B2B marketing, and commercial domains
• Promote best practices in data architecture, data modeling, testing, and observability
• Provide hands-on technical guidance and review complex Python, SQL, and dbt implementations when needed
• Ensure reliable and scalable data flows across tracking, attribution, customer journeys, and performance reporting
• Collaborate closely with Analytics, Data Science, Marketing, Product, and Commercial teams to translate business needs into robust data solutions
• Drive continuous improvements in data quality, cost efficiency, and engineering standards

• Proven experience leading and developing Data Engineers (first-line management), combined with a strong hands-on background in Python, SQL, and modern data engineering practices
• Experience working with cloud-based data platforms and orchestration tools, including technologies such as Python, SQL, dbt, Airflow, AWS (S3, Lambda), Redshift or similar data warehouses, Kafka or other event-driven systems, and Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g. Terraform)
• Familiarity with marketing and commercial data sources such as GA4, Adjust, or comparable tools is a strong advantage
• Ability to build and operate stable, scalable, and well-tested data pipelines and high-quality data models with strong documentation and observability
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, enabling trusted collaboration with Marketing, Product, Commercial, Analytics, and Data teams
• Demonstrated focus on continuous improvement in data quality, reliability, cost efficiency, and overall engineering maturity
