Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated
Quality Engineer
to support the delivery of mission-critical data centre projects. The successful candidate will ensure that all construction and installation works meet the required technical, regulatory, and client quality standards. This role plays a key part in driving a right-first-time culture across all phases of construction, from early works through commissioning and handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain the project Quality Management System in line with client, industry, and regulatory requirements.
- Review and verify engineering drawings, specifications, method statements, and inspection test plans (ITPs).
- Carry out inspections and quality audits across civil, architectural, mechanical, and electrical installations, with a strong focus on reliability and data-centre performance requirements.
- Track NCRs, snags, and observations; support root-cause analysis and drive timely closure.
- Collaborate with engineering, construction, commissioning, and vendor teams to resolve quality issues and ensure consistent standards across all disciplines.
- Monitor installation quality of critical systems such as MV/LV electrical distribution, UPS, generators, cooling systems, BMS, and fire detection/suppression.
- Support FATs, SATs, and integrated systems testing, ensuring documentation is complete and accurate.
- Maintain precise quality records, turnover packages, and as-built documentation for client handover.
- Develop and deliver quality briefings to reinforce project expectations and improve installation performance.
- Provide continuous feedback to site teams to enhance workmanship, compliance, and overall project reliability.
Skills & Experience
- Degree or technical qualification in engineering (electrical, mechanical, or related discipline).
- Previous experience working as a Quality Engineer or QA/QC professional on large-scale data centre, pharmaceutical, or industrial projects.
- Strong understanding of commissioning processes and requirements for mission-critical environments.
- Knowledge of relevant standards and codes, including electrical installation standards, data-centre mechanical systems, and building regulations.
- Proficiency in using quality management tools, digital documentation platforms, and tracking systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work across multiple disciplines.
