The financial transformation (FiT for short) refers to the comprehensive and strategic overhaul of the financial processes, systems, and procedures within Client Group.

This includes the introduction of innovative technologies, the optimization of financial processes, and the implementation of best practices to improve productivity, accuracy, and decision-making.

The Fenix project encompasses the modernization of operational financial systems: the provision of an ERP environment for financial processes (accounting, controlling, purchasing) after the end of life of R/3 in 2027.

This will enable the long-term standardization and digitization of current processes and promote data orientation through a single-source approach to financial data. With the introduction of SAP S/4HANA (Project Fénix), a global template concept is used for OB Spain, OB Brazil and OB Germany and serves as the basis for future add-ons to realize the global and local financial vision (e.g. Closing Cockpit, AI-based cash flow forecasting, billing).

Requirements:

• Development and documentation of detailed concepts for monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes according to German Commercial Code (HGB) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in an end-to-end process view (from the source system to reporting), including the definition of timetables, checklists, and responsibility matrices.
• Independent creation of functional concepts for processes in HGB accounting and financial reporting (including posting logics, valuation and accrual mechanisms, account models, and closing entries) to support an efficient and audit-proof closing process.
• Detailed functional analysis and preparation of data from SAP (especially SAP FI/CO, and potentially sub-ledger systems) and upstream systems to ensure correct financial reporting according to HGB and IFRS (e.g., reconciliation of general ledgers and sub-ledgers, balance analyses, and plausibility checks).
• Consulting on the preparation of individual financial statements in accordance with German Commercial Code (HGB) and IFRS reporting packages (balance sheet, profit and loss statement, cash flow statement, notes, provisions and accrual schedules), including the preparation of professional accounting proposals, analysis of variances and derivation of recommendations for action.
• Creation, further development, and documentation of reporting templates (e.g., German Commercial Code (HGB) notes, IFRS reporting packages, management reports), including the definition of the required data structures, and providing expert advice to the stakeholders involved regarding the requirements.Expert review and quality assurance services for financial statements prepared by Client (e.g., balance sheet items, notes, schedules of provisions, impairment tests), including documentation of the results, identification of optimization or correction needs, and their structured communication.
• Expert advice on the implementation and interpretation of new or amended accounting standards (HGB, IFRS), including conducting impact analyses, developing accounting guidelines, and creating accompanying technical documentation and training materials.
• Definition of technical requirements for system and reporting adjustments in the SAP environment (especially SAP FI/CO and, if applicable, group reporting/consolidation systems), including the creation of technical specifications for adjustments in charts of accounts, valuation logics, and reports.
• Independent development of frameworks for functional testing (test concept, relevant test cases) within the context of accounting and reporting processes; execution and documentation of functional tests to validate the correct representation of German GAAP (HGB) and IFRS requirements, as well as tracking of identified defects.
• Providing expert advice to the controlling, tax, treasury, and operational departments through workshops and review meetings to ensure consistent financial reporting and coordinated reporting.
