Visiting Analyst (Internship) – Venture Capital (m/f/d)

About Us

Freiraum Ventures
is an early-stage VC firm based in Munich, Germany. We invest sector-agnostically in pre-seed startups across Europe, with a focus on university spin-offs. The partners of the fund are part of the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE) - the entrepreneurship center of Hochschule München (HM). We are seeking ambitious Visiting Analysts to join our investment team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain initial exposure to the dynamic world of startup and innovation.

Duration:

Internship: 3-6 months full-time

What you will be working on

  • Support the investment team throughout the entire investment process (deal origination until investment)
  • Conduct market research, competitive analyses and startup screenings
  • Prepare structured analyses and short investment memos
  • Support dealflow generation (events, university ecosystem, outbound research)
  • Maintain and improve our CRM and dealflow database
  • Support portfolio-related research and reporting tasks

What we are looking for

  • Enrolled student or recent graduate with an outstanding academic track record (e.g. top 10% or comparable excellence)
  • Strong analytical and structured thinking skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in German and English
  • Initial exposure to startups, entrepreneurship, venture capital, strategy consulting, investment banking is a plus
  • International or intercultural experience (academic or professional) is a plus, but not required
  • High level of initiative, ownership and curiosity
  • Genuine interest in technology trends, business models and early-stage startups
