Join a global technology group who are expanding their European semiconductor division and are seeking an Application Engineer to support high-power semiconductor products across Europe. Based at the European headquarters, this position plays a key role in enabling customers to design-in advanced power modules used in electric mobility, industrial drives, renewable energy systems and high-performance power conversion.
This role blends hands-on engineering with technical marketing, customer interaction and product strategy. It is well suited to someone who enjoys solving complex application challenges, communicating technical concepts clearly, and helping to shape the direction of future semiconductor technology.
What You'll Be Doing
• Providing technical support for customer design-ins, including device selection, simulations, thermal and electrical considerations, and application recommendations
• Preparing technical presentations, demonstrations and supporting materials for customers and distributors
• Evaluating high-power semiconductor devices in the laboratory and contributing to application notes, reports and technical articles
• Monitoring technology and market trends, conducting competitive analysis and supporting product development requests for next-generation devices
• Supporting sample management, quality enquiries, change notices and customer audits where required
• Delivering technical training to customers, channel partners and internal teams, and collaborating with European R&D functions on application topics
• Working closely with sales to identify new opportunities with existing and new customers
What You Bring
• Degree in electrical engineering, automation, energy technology, microtechnology or similar
• Knowledge of power electronics and high-power semiconductor devices (IGBTs, silicon carbide, power modules, inverters, converters)
• Experience in simulation, circuit development or design-in support is an advantage
• Strong communication skills, structured working style and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Comfortable engaging with customers and presenting technical content
• Fluent English and strong German language skills
• Willingness to travel internationally (approx. 10–20%)
