Financial Economist/Officer at the Policy Center

SAFE offers a position for aFinancial Economist/Officer at the Policy Center (m/w/d)(full-time/part-time / salary group E13 TV-H / fixed-term for 2 years)limited to two years with the possibility of an extension, starting at the earliest possible date.The Policy Center is SAFE's second pillar and complements the research areas. The mission of the Policy Center is to support the Institute's researchers in appropriately and effectively contributing their findings and research-based policy recommendations to the policy and regulatory debate.The Financial Economist will contribute to research and writing for our policy publications and help organize events and policy meetings. The position requires strong research, writing, and analytical skills, along with the ability to work effectively with other researchers in SAFE. A strong interest in interdisciplinary topics in Financial Economics is also very important.Your Tasks:You will provide content and organizational support to the Policy CenterYou will maintain a regular exchange with SAFE's research teamYou will provide substantive support to research groups in preparing comments or positions as a basis for academic policy adviceYou will support active Policy Center projects through independent research workYou will identify relevant scientific literature on economics and finance, regulations, and other policy documents as well as formulate briefings on themYou will identify opportunities for empirical analysis for policy work, using market data and producing didactical graphsYou will support the design and organization of workshops, lectures, and conferences of the Policy CenterYour Profile:You have an excellent university degree (Master plus at least two years of working experience or Ph.D.) in economics, finance, law, or a similar disciplineYou demonstrate strong analytical, quantitative, and research skillsYou show strong interest in current issues related to financial regulation and/or green finance and /or law & finance, ideally evidenced by relevant academic work or professional experienceYou have a structured working style and show the ability to work in a team, independently, and have a high service orientationYou write and speak fluently in English.
