in Clinical Pharmacology

We are inviting applicants for the position of full professor in the area of

clinical pharmacology, to be filled as soon as possible.

We are inviting applicants for the position in the area of clinical pharma-

cology. The starting date is as soon as possible.

We are looking for a person to represent this area in research and teach-

ing.

The professorship is associated with the management of the Institute of

Clinical Pharmacology within a departmental structure. Internationally rec-

ognized scientific achievements in a modern research field of clinical

pharmacology are expected. The research area should strengthen the re-

search focus of the Faculty of Medicine. Excellent third-party funding and

extensive teaching experience are also expected. Knowledge of the regu-

latory framework for drug development, in particular the scientific plan-

ning and implementation of clinical studies and the related clinical-phar-

macological data collection is required.

Interdisciplinary scientific co-operation with other departments and clinics

of the Medical School, with the research areas of the RWTH Aachen Uni-

versity including SFB TRR 219, SFB TRR 379, SFB 1382, KFO 344, KFO

5011, IRTG 2150, GRK 2375, GRK 2415, GRK 2610, PAK 961, CIOABCD,

JARA, IZKF AACHEN, with the Institute of Biomedical Technologies

(IBMT) and with other technical disciplines are encouraged. In addition,

an active commitment in the degree programs of the Medical Faculty is

also expected.

The requirements include a specialist in clinical pharmacology, a doctoral

degree and additional research experience, such as a habilitation (post-

doctoral lecturing qualification) or equivalent achievements gained as a

university researcher or professor or in a research position outside aca-

demia. Teaching ability and dedication are essential and the application

should include proof of this. Fluent German is not required to start the

position but the successful candidate will be expected to hold classes in

German within the first 5 years.
