Senior Data Engineer
Do you love building the data foundations that power products used by millions? As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll design and scale the pipelines, platforms, and tooling that fuel a global consumer service relied upon every day. Your work will transform raw information into high-quality, reliable datasets that teams across the organisation depend on to make fast, smart decisions.
What You'll Do:
Build Robust Data Systems:
Design, implement, and optimise data pipelines and distributed processing architectures that handle high-volume, real-time information flows.
Shape the Platform:
Improve and scale the internal data infrastructure — from storage to orchestration — ensuring reliability, observability, and performance at every step.
Partner Across Teams:
Work closely with product, engineering, and analytics teams to translate business needs into scalable data solutions that unlock new capabilities.
Engineer with Excellence:
Write clean, maintainable code, champion automation, and contribute to a high-quality data ecosystem that others can build on confidently.
Ensure Data Quality:
Establish standards, implement validation frameworks, and enforce best practices to guarantee accuracy, consistency, and trust in all data assets.
The Team:
You'll join a collaborative, impact-driven data organisation that sits at the core of the company's decision-making and product development. The team values ownership, curiosity, and technical rigor — and works closely with engineers and analysts across multiple domains. Here, data engineering isn't a support function; it's a strategic pillar shaping how the entire platform evolves.
What They're Looking For:
5+ years of experience in data engineering or backend engineering with a strong data focus
Expertise in building and maintaining distributed data pipelines (e.g., Spark, Flink, Beam)
Solid programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala
Strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL/ELT design, and cloud-based data platforms
Experience with orchestration frameworks (Airflow, Dagster, or similar)
Knowledge of streaming technologies and event-driven architectures
Solid grasp of SQL, performance tuning, and data modelling best practices
Bonus: Experience in high-growth, product-driven environments or large-scale data ecosystems
