The Data Science team is developing and operating a large-scale data management and analytics platform and is working on the digital transformation of processes, data products and on customer-specific solutions in the areas of Data Engineering, Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence and Reporting/Visualisation.

We are looking for a (Senior) Data Scientist (m/f/d) to join our Data Science department at one of our locations in Munich or Hamburg as soon as possible.

Your role and tasks

As a (Senior) Data Scientist with us, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our data management and analytics platform. You will be responsible for developing, implementing and applying cutting-edge Data Engineering and Data Science solutions that drive business growth and innovation. Moreover, you will have the opportunity to explore exciting and diverse data, work with cutting-edge algorithms and technologies and participate in the development of solutions that generate new insights for clients in all industries.

• Together with your team, you develop an efficient, standardized process for the automated generation of market research reports (Powerpoint, Excel, PDF, and others) in Python.
• You integrate the report generation process into our existing Ipsos data management platform and operate it for international large-scale research programs.
• You advise internal and external stakeholders on efficient data processes and visualization of complex data and insights.
• You work with a modern stack of data engineering and analytics tools – e.g. Python, Docker, Google Cloud Services and Tableau.
• You play a key role in the development and scaling of the Ipsos data management platform and the implementation of new features in the areas of data/result visualization, analytics and AI.

Your Profile

• You have 3+ years of experience in Data Engineering and Data Science and are curious about learning new technologies.
• You have strong knowledge of Python and solid practical experience with the relevant libraries for MS Office document generation like python-pptx, openpyxl or win32com. If you have worked with SQL and/or VBA – even better.
• You have a talent for visualising complex data and findings in an appealing way and are well versed in MS Office applications.
• Very good quantitative degree (M.Sc.), e.g. in STEM, Business Informatics, Quantitative Social Science or related fields.
• You are a team player, have the mindset of an inhouse consultant and love to drive topics that you own instead of being told what exactly to do. You are structured in your work style and you would consider yourself to be meticulous.
• Ideally, you are familiar with agile software development methodologies, working with git, code reviews, pull requests, and similar.
• You are fluent in English (spoken and written) - German is a plus
